HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CUTTING BOARD:
Keep it out of the dishwasher. Too much heat and water…way too much. Unless you want kindling, wash it by hand. Warm water and a little soap will do the trick. Be sure to dry it off as best you can and allow all surfaces to dry. If you stain the board with your wine drinking and hand gestures, address it as soon as possible (with the water and soap trick). If the stain sets, a little sandpaper will clean it off. Try not to be too tough with the sanding or you will get a wavy board. If the board has a smell to it, spritz a little vinegar. Lastly, there comes a time in every board’s life where it needs a good oiling. Slather on some mineral oil and natural, food safe waxes once a month for 3 months then once it appears dry (stay away from cooking oils, it will smell). Once you apply a liberal amount (think Wendy Peffercorn), allow the oil to set in then wipe off excess. Seems like a lot of work, but if you can keep a Tamagotchi alive for more than a week, you’ll be able to enjoy this board forever.
